Joy to the Fishes in the Deep Blue Sea, Joy to You and Me!

And I do mean that. And Gents. The story behind this one being that I was working with a slightly odious man who treats women the way that most slightly feminist college students would object to. Especially the women working out around them. The Y is not really a single mixer, unless you are two men in the steam room. I've read enough Craigslist postings to this effect.

In short, I really dislike this person. I also don't think I'm all that subtle about this, as I was drawing this as he was complaining about both his ex-wife and his current girlfriend in the same breath.
But lets move on to something else. Like the superhero gal here?? Yeah, this would be my lovely and bad-ass friend Megan, who really is like a superhero. I am continually so blown away by how hard she is in everything she does. Plus she has a perfect figure for a spandex bodysuit: Gal's got legs for days.

The naked lady is a sort of off-shoot from a Woody Allen piece which can be found in The Insanity Defense, which I would highly recommend for anyone who wishes to remain not lame.

Then we have "Joy to the World", which I remember was a constant in my childhood home. I also love the name Jeremiah for a boy. I have yet to meet a living person with that name, but if I have kids Jeremiah will be up there on the list of possible names.

"Up there" as in: it will be in the #1 spot.

Here's a fun fact: Toxoplasma-a parasite that is found in rats-can only breed within cats, so it releases some sort of chemical that makes cat urine attractive to rats. The rats go to the urine, get eaten, and the parasites are happy.

It also gets into humans. Thus explaining the crazy cat ladies. It also may cause schizophrenia (maybe), and also is linked to an increased risk of dying in car accidents.

Lets take a second and absorb how amazing this is. And by amazing I mean bizarre and slightly unsettling. But interesting and bizarre and slightly unsettling. This world is so very interesting.

Oh, and Happy Easter all you young so-and-sos out there. I personally believe that any holiday, whether you believe in it or not, is worth celebrating if marshmellow treats shaped like chicks and covered in colored sugar are involved. Thats my philosophy anyways.

Today is lovely. Sadly, even though the sun is out I still have school. Lots of school. I've got one more class and after that I'm going to bury myself in studying for my two midterms. Thank you UofM. I love you too.

So these, then, are my Histart 481 and Soc 102 notes. You may be able to tell that the sun has made me loopy. If you close-up on the pages you will be able to read the written elements of these doodles, which are pretty extensive. My favorite of today? Without a doubt the Granny Lady and Wolf ensemble (seen above). I took great joy in that. I think more fairy tale themes will probably follow.
Soc 102 I was a little late for because I needed to make a Comet Coffee run. Ann Arborites, you must check out this place. Its in Nickels Arcade. Yes, yes the coffee is fantastic, the setting is cute, and the pastries are flaky and buttery, but thats not the reason that I'm making this suggestion. Its more so that you can check out the delightful pen drawings of fellow Ace Deuce dweller Ben Saginaw that pepper the place. Next time I see him Ill see if I can get him to guest contribute a doodle.

I might just have plans to expand this blog. Anyone who would like me to scan in a little piece of their talent should contact me in anyway possible. Carrier Pigeon delivery is preferred.

And this one? I don't even know what to say with this one...I will say that it is a faithful depiction of the salad I later ate for lunch, minus the business with the banana.

god loves Ugly

Warnings Ladies and Gentlemen. This is a naked post.

These came out of working through the early morning (I think it around 3 am?). They're pretty rough, but I guess that's the point of a doodle blog. What better way to kick off a beautiful saturday afternoon than with a healthy dose of full frontal nudity? My thoughts exactly.

These two pages are a result of early morning rough sketch. They're pencil and imperfect and I love them like that. Random thoughts to come out of the whole 3am exercise: I can't draw hands or naked men for shit. These things need work. Random thoughts from right now? I can't spell exercise right on the first try...that's just sad...

I decided I wanted to try and draw more men. Specifically male nudes. This is largely because I currently cant draw a naked man to save my life. Sadly.

So around 2 am I googled "naked men" and never looked back. This is the really rough sketch I did first. The nicer ones I'm keeping to myself. They're just too raw for me to be putting out there...also they need a lot of work. Plus, the rough stuff's just more fun.

So this actually came out of a valentines day conversation about what a hallmark heart really looks like when flipped upside down. The drawings were done in class on thursday. Topic of class? Babylonian burial sites. Naturally my thoughts strayed to nudity.

Naturally.

Fun fact. The tramp stamp on the blue penned woman says "you have my heart". In the future I'm thinking of making valentines cards like this. Just a thought...
